Italian Fashion Designer lost at Sea

Italian design talent Ritardo Malachiese is missing with his 30ft sailing yacht, "Lao Wei Kok" in the yellow sea since Friday last week. Malachiese and his boat where last seen on Friday the 8th leaving Qingdao for a day trip. The fashion designer is in Qingdao celebrating the Chinese New Year, prior to the opening of his first outlet in Beijing in April this year. His personal assistant and PR manager Ms. Meta Lubenklein told the Chinese press that she is very concerned about Mr. Malachiese's whereabouts. “Ritardo is an experienced sailor; I’m really very concerned that something serious might have happened” she told QNA.
Meanwhile Chinese coast guard and other rescue services are engaged in a frantic search for the missing Italian and his boat. His fiancée, the Chinese model turned actress, Zhou Meng has also arrived in Qingdao to take part in the search for the missing designer.
Ritardo Malachiese graduated from the Milan school of fashion in 2002. The 34 year old is hailed as one of Italy’s greatest fashion design talents. Malachiese is famed for his east/west fusion designs. He lives in Shanghai since 2005 and is now in the process of installing a chain of shops throughout the Middle Kingdom.
