SpaceNet AG Receives ISO/IEC 27001 Certificate

atsec information security supported the full-service Internet provider in certifying its data center

2008-02-12 – Munich, Germany - Information integrity, confidentiality, and security is the number one priority when dealing with sensitive customer data on a daily basis. SpaceNet AG has proven its commitment to this principle by achieving successful ISO/IEC 27001 certification.

SpaceNet AG Director Sebastian von Bomhard explained: “A well-planned approach to business challenges and high IT security standards is crucial for SpaceNet – with or without a certificate. Our business is based on the trust that our customers place in us. The certificate assures our customers that our performance has been measured neutrally and objectively by an official organization.”

During the certification process, a structured ISO/IEC 27001-compliant Information Security Management System (ISMS) was introduced. The ISMS describes the company’s IT security requirements regarding development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance, including its service provision, physical security, and internal processes.

Chris Wahl, Managing Director of atsec information security GmbH, adds: ”We are proud that SpaceNet AG chose atsec for this project and are happy about the exceptional result of this certification. The professionally-conducted project shows the value that SpaceNet AG places on IT security. The certificate is a formal proof of this commitment and will help SpaceNet to distinguish itself from the competition.”
