arvato systems today announced an agreement with HP to help game developers and publishers develop, deploy and manage online games quickly and without prohibitive upfront costs. This agreement is part of arvato’s Electronic Entertainment Infrastructure Service (E.E.I.S.) Platform, the interactive entertainment industry’s first development and deployment platform for creating and launching online games with integrated global billing support. For HP, the agreement is part of an ongoing initiative, HP Game On, to help gaming companies streamline the development, launch and management of games.

It marks the first time in the game industry that a game development and deployment platform with integrated global billing and player versus player networking support is available with a Pay-As-You-Grow-Your-Game business model. With the HP-powered E.E.I.S. Platform, arvato systems will offer game developers and publishers of all sizes the world-class tools and all the ancillary game services required to support players and the business of online games. An MMO-Middleware Solution, 3D multi purpose lobby system, payment services, and game integrated webshop support will ensure a choice of existing and emerging gaming business models, with multi-country distribution support.

The E.E.I.S. Platform allows developers and publishers to pay as their games scale (or shrink) instead of making a significant financial investment before a game is even ready for consumer availability. Existing bank relationships and interfaces for most used payment options will avoid lengthy test and development cycles needed in multi-country distribution models. Game companies will be able to “stand up” and deploy online games more quickly and at a cost that is much lower than previously possible. As a consequence, this model significantly reduces the risk and helps increase the return on investment associated with game development today.
