Lipetsk Special Economic Zone commended for NEW INVESTMENTS and SUPPORTING EDUCATION AND TRAINGING in Global Free Zones 2016 ranking by fDi Intelligence (The Financial Times).

• Published on October 13 2016, Global Free Zones Ranking by fDi Magazine (The FT) commended Lipetsk Industrial Special Economic for New Investments, largely due to Schlumberger €58m investment in a manufacturing plant due to come online in 2018.
The world’s leading provider of technology, products and services for oil and gas industry Schlumberger became one of the globally operating companies that chose to join Lipetsk SEZ in 2016. As an SEZ tenant the company is now implementing a project of a new facility for 4 mln. of ESPs stages per year. The factory commission is expected in two years time.
According to Schlumberger, the technical complexity and the scale of the would-be facility made the high standards of SEZ engineering operations and the availability of design and construction expertise in the region the key considerations for picking up Lipetsk SEZ premises.
Furthermore, Lipetsk SEZ was commended for Support of Education and Training in recognition of the long standing collaboration with the local education institutions that links together investors and schools. Lately this collaboration logically evolved into an initiative to establish a new centre of excellence in the special economic zone to strengthen and improve the operational communications and raise the internship programmes effectiveness.
Lipetsk SEZ Managing company for the two successive years was named the most efficient in terms of attracting investors by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. Over the 10 years of the SEZ operations 47 companies from 15 states landed with the project drawn by the broad range of benefits, state warranties and well-equipped premises. The list of the current SEZ tenants includes world production leaders such as АВВ (Switzerland), VIESSMANN (Germany), HONEYWELL (US), YOKOHAMA (Japan), PPG Industries (US), OBO BETTERMANN (Germany), BEKAERT (Belgium), LIFAN (China) and many others.
At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2016 (SPIEF'2016) last June Lipetsk Special Economic Zone was pronounced the winner in the nomination "The Best Infrastructure Project of Russia 2016".

Lipetsk Special Economic Zone is an industrial area set up by the Russian Government in December 2005 for promoting priority industries (machine building and power engineering) through state benefits and warranties.
