certgate presents the certgate Card Application Development Kit at the Mobile World Congress

Nuremberg / Barcelona, 11 February 2008 – The Nuremberg firm certgate GmbH, formerly IICS, a specialist in mobile data and communication security, is presenting the certgate Card Application Development Kit at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. With the Kit, certgate is helping developers with direct integration and use of their own Smart Card applications in the certgate Smart Card microSD. Access to the Smart Card is simple and easy: via Smart Card reader and a USB connection. With an integrated cryptographic chip and flash memory, the certgate Smart Card microSD ensures the greatest possible security for applications on mobile end devices.

With the certgate Smart Card microSD, the Nuremberg firm certgate GmbH is setting new standards for security applications on mobile end devices. certgate is now presenting the certgate Card Application Development Kit at the Mobile Wold Congress in Barcelona. This will give the international band of Smart Card developers the chance to put their own mobile end device security applications straight into practice. Traditional Smart Card applications can be directly integrated into the certgate card and used in mobile end devices for the first time via the microSD card. Programming is as usual done practically and simply on a standard PC. The microSD Smart Card can be accessed via a special USB Smart Card reader with integrated microSD-slot; there is no need for extra drivers for Windows, Linux or MAC-based operating systems.

Availability and Price

The certgate Card Application Development Kit is available as of now for Euro 299.00. The Kit includes both a developer board with integrated Smart Card reader and a USB cable, two programmable certgate Smart Card microSD Java Cards, a handbook and software.
