Customs Kicking Cancer is the brainchild of Dan Lucas Jr., the son of a prostate cancer warrior. Inspired by the personal journey of his father, Dan Lucas Sr., who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009, the nonprofit organization is dedicated to supporting those affected by this disease. Through a series of grass-roots efforts, including charity rides, rallies, and shows, they aim to spark open conversations about prostate cancer and its impact, while also providing free PSA testing kits.
Dan Lucas Sr. has loved motorcycles his whole life - however, due to his prostate cancer diagnosis, he was forced to stop riding. Dan's son saw what a physical and emotional toll this took on his father and immediately began the process of customizing his father's motorcycle so that he could ride once again. Customs Kicking Cancer was born.
"The mission of Customs Kicking Cancer is to create a community where men feel empowered to discuss their health and seek early detection," said Dan Lucas Jr. "By combining a passion for motorcycles and cars with a serious health issue, the organization is hoping to reach a wider audience and make a real difference."
Dan Lucas Sr., although special in his journey, is not a unique case among men. Prostate cancer is a significant health concern affecting millions of men worldwide. It is the second most common cancer in men and results in one death nearly every fifteen minutes. Early detection is crucial for successful treatment, and Customs Kicking Cancer is committed to raising awareness about the importance of regular screenings.
