We are also featuring an edge-based solution for PCB defect detection for a US product manufacturer. The first version of this solution has been implemented using computer vision algorithms and custom trained AI models (multiple detection & classification models), running on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX system-on-module. Defect classes include missing components, bent components, polarity reversal, leg lifts, etc. A robotic arm is controlled to take multiple views of the PCB to get high-accuracy detection. This solution is currently in field trials.
