The Cultural Assembly Open Call Invites DEI Leaders to Collaborate on Virtual Reality Training Program - PlayNicely
London, 17.10.24 - The Cultural Assembly has announced an open call for Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEI) Leaders to collaborate with them in the design of an ecosystem of resources and to support the delivery of DEI training in the workplace. The program called PlayNicely™ is an open collaboration program for DEI Leaders to co-create an evolving toolkit of resources. The game-changing program supports workplace Initiatives supercharged by multi-disciplinary arts, AI and gamified, spatial computing technologies like Virtual & Augmented Reality (XR). The aim is to disrupt traditional DEI training in the workplace to provide a sharable resource of highly engaging Immersive training solutions that are easily adopted co-created by DEI Leaders and organisations.
The Cultural Assembly are launching PlayNicely™ as a research and development project initially, to specifically serve the ever-evolving needs of DEI Leaders & Inclusion professionals. Maya Alexander, Director and Founder of The Cultural Assembly said..
'Incorporating new technologies and creative role playing within DEI Training is not a new thing, we understand engagement and learning retention increases by 75% using VR, so the technology it's not a gimmick but a serious team training tool.
.. As we need metrics to understand and grow, the technology can provide the data we need to analyse results...there's so much potential, we are at the open collaborative stage of PlayNicely™, which will help to improve how we achieve deeper enquiry, with the use of virtual safe practice zones to promote psychological safety'.
PlayNicely™ addresses the short fall of traditional DEI training as it relies on superficial, passive e-learning platforms that often struggle to engage teams and lead to low participation and limited real-world application. The Cultural Assembly recognised the need to tackle this gap and are currently developing a toolkit to extend Inclusion awareness in the workplace to foster a solution that prompts deeper enquiry and sustainable behaviour change and action that addresses systemic inequalities.
The problem is, most DEI Leaders struggle with the continual need to keep their teams motivated about the subject, especially in new hybrid work cultures. The introduction of hybrid work practices challenges team dynamics in new ways. Therefore, DEI training cannot only be addressed by points systems and progress tracking to ensure sustained engagement. PlayNicely™ offers access to a mixed bag of experiences and tools to inspire teams using the latest creative innovation and gamified experiences.
The PlayNicely™ toolkit can help teams with retention to apply learnt behaviour into real-world scenarios using creative sessions, role play workshops and spatial computing applications, to help explore uncomfortable scenarios in safe virtual spaces. Virtual Reality increases learning retention by up to *1.75% and is up to *2.91% more effective in fostering empathy and developing real world adoption in the workplace.
"We've created a solution that combines the disarming power of play with the latest in creative technology and AI, allowing DEI Leaders and employees to engage with training in ways they've never experienced before," states Kwesi Johnson, Creative Director, Co-Founder of The Cultural Assembly.
"This is more than just VR DEI team training-we are working to Revolutionise DEI and creatively design new resources and XR-based products to elevate Workplace Inclusion."
The Cultural Assembly are actively seeking partnerships with DEI Leaders and organisations, with the aim to develop and accelerate inclusion action in the workplace with the adoption of the PlayNicely™ framework. The collaboration is expected to push the boundaries of team training and to explore with sensitivity, how emerging technology and the creative arts can make an impact using new Inclusion Initiatives that build a truly inclusive workplace culture.
