How to Setup Bigpond Email in Microsoft Outlook
For incoming mail server settings, the server should be imap.telstra.com with port number 993 and security selected as SSL. The outgoing mail server (SMTP) should be smtp.telstra.com with port 465 also with SSL security. When prompted for the username and password make sure you type your bigpond email address as the username and the password you registered with. After entering the above information, this program will proceed to do a connection test in order to conclude the setup.
When everything is done, your Bigpond email configured with Microsoft Outlook will synchronise; and you will be able to send messages, receive messages, and manage messages to and from the locally running Microsoft Outlook client. Moreover, such configuration helps to improve the usability of Bigpond emails by making them more accessible in a centralised and organised manner.
