During Emotional Wellness Month, A New Dawn Announces a More Positive Way to help People Dealing with Loss during its Launch Event at Fiddler’s Elbow

During Emotional Wellness month, A New Dawn will celebrate the launch of a national platform to support people dealing with loss – whether through death or divorce – and help them transition though the grieving process in a more positive way with the simple but powerful mantra: Share. Heal. Love.

On Thursday, October 20, A New Dawn will host its first fundraising gala at the beautiful Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, NJ. To support A New Dawn, guests can bid on many auction items including Nancy and David fine jewelry, international vacations, and original works of art. Entertainment for the evening includes a meet & greet with Kool of Kool & the Gang, author and speaker, Nigel Taylor, Broadway Singers, a DJ and dancing.

A New Dawn is named in honor of its founder, Dawn Jiosi, and her own transformative journey dealing with loss. Eight year ago, Dawn’s husband was killed in a tragic accident that left her devastated and having to raise two young children alone. Jiosi describes the first few years after his death; “I was like a deer in headlights, but I just knew I had to keep going for my kids.”

Then author, Becky Aikman, invited Dawn to join an experimental renegade group of widows who wanted to move forward with their lives. They went on adventures, supported each other and gave themselves permission to have fun again. The shared experience changed them all in profound and positive ways and the experiment became a bestselling book, Saturday Night Widows and the women were featured in the media on CBS morning show and Katie (Couric) show.

Reinvigorated, Jiosi was inspired to start her new calling: “I’m combining what I experienced in the group with my own 30 years of spiritual exploration, and work with teachers like Caroline Myss, Nigel Taylor and Deepak Chopra. I want to help others navigate through the maze of emotions and steer them towards a compassionate community full of hope, joy and love.”

Losing a loved one can be traumatic – and this is especially true with the death of a spouse.
