USAII® Launches AI Certifications in Malaysia with a Big Bang
The launch was officiated by the Honorable Minister for Digital, Malaysia, YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, who emphasized the importance of AI in shaping Malaysia's future workforce and economy. "AI is not just the future; it is the present, and Malaysia has the potential to be a global leader in AI-driven innovation," said YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo. He highlighted how AI can revolutionize industries, create jobs, and position Malaysia as a frontrunner in technological advancements.
Organized by USAII's exclusive partner in Malaysia, SG Education Group (SG TVET GROUP BERHAD), the event was led by Dato' Sri Ganes Palaniapan, Chairman of SG TVET Group Berhad. Dato Sri Ganes discussed the vast potential for AI in Malaysia's tech industry and how these programs will help transform the workforce by empowering professionals with cutting-edge AI skills.
Dr. Milton Mattox, CEO of USAII®, delivered a keynote speech where he shared insights into the global and Malaysian AI landscape, outlining both the opportunities and challenges faced by local companies in adopting AI technologies. He emphasized the importance of overcoming these challenges through upskilling initiatives and launched the Certified AI Accelerator (CAIA™) program-a beginner-level AI certification exclusive to Malaysia. This program will be delivered in both self-paced and instructor-led formats, facilitated by USAII's partner, SG Education Group, making it accessible to a wide audience.
The event featured insightful panel discussions and speeches by prominent industry experts, including Assoc. Prof Dr. Selvakumar, Chief Council Advisor of Certified AI Programs at Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Prof Dr. Azlan Mohd Zain, Deputy Chief Council Advisor of Certified AI Programs at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Both experts highlighted the critical role of AI in education and workforce development, as well as its impact on various industries in Malaysia.
An additional highlight was a mesmerizing AI-powered dance performance that showcased the creative and technical possibilities of AI, leaving attendees in awe of its potential.
USAII is excited to partner with SG Education Group in advancing AI education in Malaysia, and this collaboration is a significant step toward upskilling the Malaysian workforce in AI. "With the strong support from the Malaysian government and educational institutions, we are confident that Malaysia is on the path to becoming a global AI hub," said Dr. Mattox.
The event followed a series of high-level discussions held a day earlier, on October 7, where Dr. Mattox and the USAII® team met with the Honorable Deputy Minister of Higher Education, YB Mustapha Sakmud, and explored the role of AI in higher education. The USAII team also met with Mr. Ibrahim Sani, CEO of Yayasan Peneraju, to discuss how AI certification can help Malaysian professionals stay ahead in an evolving technological landscape.
