Bakwena announces The Groot Marico Bosveld Myl sporting and cultural event

Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concessionaire, operator of the N1N4 freeway, and main sponsor of The Marico Bosveld Myl is pleased to confirm this year’s event is taking place on 1st October at the Marico Bosveld Dam.
This community event is more than a sporting event, it is also a family festival which includes flea market & food stalls as well as lots of entertainment for the whole family. This year’s entertainer, amongst others is Brendan Peyper.
“Athletes can take part in running events with distances of 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km, 5km or a 1.6km as well as a Mountain Bike event of 50km, 20km or 10km and a Swimming event of 3000m, 1600m and 500m. ”For the more serious athletes the 42.2 & 21.1 km running race are Two Oceans & Comrades qualifiers along with the 3000m swim which is an open water swim qualifier.

Online entries are already closed however registrations are accepted on the afternoon of 30th September at the venue as well as from early morning on the day of the event.

Bakwena signed a Concession Contract with the South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) to construct, manage, maintain and upgrade the N1 and N4 roads on the 4th October 2000, and to date have successfully met and exceeded expectations on the routes.

Bakwena delivers First Aid training to 12 schools along their N1N4 route
