AI optimizes routes for service fleets

Stuttgart, September 25, 2024 - The digital PlanBoard in Arealcontrol's telematics portal, hosted in the private cloud, now enables the clear scheduling of service vehicles with the help of artificial intelligence. This allows hundreds of service jobs to be scheduled to the available service personnel within minutes. Recurring orders are generated automatically and distributed to the available staff a week in advance. Mixing and ad-hoc scheduling of emergency assignments are also possible.

Companies with service fleets face the daily challenge of deploying their limited resources as efficiently as possible. With Arealcontrol's AI-supported route planning solution, capacities can be used optimally. This reduces costs while increasing customer satisfaction.

The PlanBoard shows the workload for each vehicle in the form of orders with stations, the time required and the kilometers to be covered. The highly dynamic system takes numerous variables into account, such as available vehicles, scheduling and route optimization. Each vehicle is optimized in terms of its location, its capacity and the routes it has already planned. Orders are assigned in such a way that the available working time per vehicle is optimally utilized. Intelligent route selection minimizes the number of kilometers to be covered, which also saves fuel and protects the environment.

"AI-supported route planning offers the opportunity to relieve or even replace the specialist dispatcher as far as possible and to handle more orders with the same number of vehicles and personnel.
