Limit value radio interface for hybrid fire alarm systems and fire detection systems

New TAURUS gateway bridges the gap between limit value monitoring center and wireless components of a fire alarm system or fire detection system

Fire alarm systems (FAS) in accordance with DIN VDE V 0826-2 for fire protection in special buildings and fire alarm systems (FAS) in accordance with DIN EN 14675 for fire protection in so-called functional buildings are often installed using a single connection technology. In the case of loop or limit value wired systems, however, this reduces flexibility in some places. Partly due to the local conditions and requirements, the high installation costs or when retrofitting or modernizing individual components at a later date.

With the new TW-MEC-01 limit value wireless gateway (https://bkh-security.de/shop/shop/brandwarn-zubehoer/grenzwert-funk-schnittstelle-tw-mec-01) from the TAURUS wireless model series, BKH Sicherheitstechnik offers an interface that solves precisely this problem: The universal interface forms a bridge between a fire alarm control panel (FACP) operated in limit value mode and individual TAURUS wireless components. As the gateway can be used universally, it can also be connected to limit value fire alarm control panels from other manufacturers. This makes it easy to connect up to 128 wireless components, such as the DIN EN 54-25 tested wireless smoke, multi-sensor, thermal and push-button detectors (house alarm) from the TAURUS series, to a limit value fire alarm panel. This automatically turns the fire warning or fire alarm system into a hybrid, as it now works in limit value and wireless mode, thus offering maximum flexibility.

With the appropriate expanders, the range of the individual components can be increased to up to 8 km in the open field, thus extending the fire protection system enormously, even in large building complexes. Another advantage: the expanders work in so-called wireless mesh technology. This means that they are linked to each other and ensure intelligent signal processing for even greater safety and reliability.

In addition, the individual TAURUS wireless detectors are each equipped with two redundant channels. This ensures even greater reliability of the system, as if one channel is blocked, the second, redundant channel automatically takes over and ensures continuous operation.

Conclusion: When modernizing or expanding your fire alarm system or fire detection system, take advantage of the flexibility offered by the TAURUS TW-MEC-01 limit value radio interface and save the time and expense of installing a new fire alarm system by continuing to use your existing fire alarm system.
