ruffle Orchard with Smart Irrigation Powered by ThingsLog IoT

Dobrich, Bulgaria 5/09/2024 - In a breakthrough development for sustainable truffle cultivation, Andy's Truffles together with ThingsLog is proud to announce the launch of a state-of-the-art truffle orchard with a remote irrigation monitoring and control system powered by ThingsLog IoT technology. The truffle orchard is far away from any civilization, there is no current and minimal mobile network coverage. This innovative system uses 2G/GPRS connectivity to enable real-time, automated irrigation control, tailored specifically for optimal truffle growth.
Smart Irrigation with Enhanced Watering Techniques

Unlike traditional methods, the orchard utilizes sprinklers and hanging nozzles instead of drip irrigation. This approach ensures uniform moisture distribution, mimicking natural rainfall and promoting better aeration in the soil-critical factors for truffle development.

The monitoring and control system aims to maintain truffle orchard soil moisture in between 70 and 80% border through the truffle season.
We use also solar for powering on the pumps and valvs.

The integrated ThingsLog IoT data loggers and controllers gather real-time data from soil moisture sensors, flow meters, and environmental monitors. The system transmits this data via GPRS to the ThingsLog cloud platform, where the orchard's irrigation can be monitored and controlled remotely through a mobile or web interface.
Sustainability and Efficiency

Powered by solar energy, the ThingsLog system reduces water waste by automating irrigation based on precise environmental conditions. With real-time alerts and data visualization, the system optimizes water use, ensuring sustainable truffle production while minimizing manual intervention.

This innovative truffle orchard is a model of how cutting-edge IoT technology can enhance traditional farming practices, ensuring greater efficiency, sustainability, and growth potential.
