#AfricaRising at Reeperbahn Festival 2024

Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afro-House - the sounds of the African continent have been growing in popularity for years, especially in Germany, which is currently the sixth largest market for Afrobeats listeners in the world. According to the IFPI Global Music Report 2024, sub-Saharan Africa has the fastest growing music market with an impressive growth rate of 24.7%. - However, the relationship between the African and European continents remains distant and successful long-term collaborations are often difficult to establish.

As part of the curatorial board of this year's session programme at the Reeperbahn Festival Conference 2024, COLLABEEZ is investigating why this is the case. We are excited to presenting the African continent together with great local and international partners!

In collaboration with our partners ARMC and Paradise Worldwide, we have been able to organise a diverse programme on music trends and collaborations between Europe and (Sub-Saharan) Africa in 2024.

The Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC) is one of the largest events for the international music industry in South Africa. It is held annually in Johannesburg. Much more than a B2B conference, the ARMC is a global platform focused on female executives, female artists and the exchange of knowledge between executives.
