Walls Tokyo is pleased to present "BLOOM IN GARDEN II" by Jun Ogata x KAZZAN.

This is the second solo exhibition by Jun Ogata at the gallery, and will feature works based on the theme of "decorating a garden in a room," featuring gardens and the flowers that bloom in them.

The paintings and photographs will express the seasonal beauty and withering beauty of diverse gardens in nature, as well as the world of color patterns and light and dark.

This year's exhibition will feature three new media and four categories, including paintings, ink paintings released under the name KAZZAN, and photographs, as well as Bonseki photos exhibited at the NFT.

Jun Ogata
Born in Tokyo. Graduated from the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. Through the introduction of his teacher, he entered a restoration workshop and studied abroad in New York under the Agency for Cultural Affairs overseas training program.
He interned at Rustin Levenson Art Conservation Associates Ltd. Since then, he has been active as a restorer involved in the restoration of numerous masterpieces.
As a painter, he has been in the limelight for his style of using subdued colors reminiscent of traditional Japanese colors to depict gardens and natural landscapes.
In addition to solo exhibitions in Japan, he has participated in select exhibitions in New York and London, and later expanded his activities to Singapore and Southeast Asia.
In 2019, he was the only Japanese artist invited to participate in "The Exhibition of Finest A Works From Representative Asian Artist in Hanoi - Vietnam 2019" organized by the Vietnamese government, which brought together artists from all over Asia.
In recent years, he has also been focusing on [art production for public spaces] such as hotels, residences, and restaurants.
(Major commissioned works: Michelin-starred Ginza restaurant "REIKASAI", Grand Front Osaka Owner's Tower, Ryukyu Hotel & Resort Meijo Beach, Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura, Ziyun Lake Resort Hotel; Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, etc.)
Published a collection of works "Ten Gardens: Abstraction in the Garden" (2021) and a collection of works "GOKUSUI" (2022) under the name of Kazan Ogata.
