The Hannover Convention and Event Bureau has become a partner of the Open Data MICE project of the German Convention Bureau (GCB). This cooperation marks an important step towards the internationalization of the Hannover Region as a trade fair, congress and event location.

The Open Data MICE project is a forward-looking initiative of the GCB that aims to strengthen the MICE industry (meetings, incentives, conventions and events) in Germany through the use of open data. As part of this collaboration, Hannover will benefit from improved international visibility and an
visibility and an extended reach on the web.

"With the GCB, we have a strong partner at our side who supports us in successfully driving forward the internationalization of the Hannover Region as a business location," says Hans Nolte, Managing Director of Hannover Marketing & Tourismus GmbH (HTMG), to which the Convention Bureau belongs.

A central component of the project is the development of the "Knowledge Graph", a comprehensive database that maps Germany as a MICE location in the form of open data. This will result in numerous advantages for Hannover, such as the provision of relevant MICE data for innovative applications such as artificial intelligence (AI) and chatbots, as well as the availability of fully processed content for free use.

"The integration of artificial intelligence into our strategies and projects is a forward-looking step for the Hannover Convention Bureau. While the German Convention Bureau's entry into the 'Datagraph' project is still in the planning phase, we already see the immense potential that AI offers to optimize our work processes and increase efficiency. We look forward to further exploring these innovative approaches and integrating them into our workflows ito become more competitive on the international stage," says Nolte.
