8th Annual ¡Buen Provecho! Culinary Walking Tour in Pilsen

24 local eateries, specialty shops, and restaurants offer a taste of their signature dish

WHO:

Calling Chicago locals, visitors, and foodies! Eighteenth Street Development Corporation proudly presents its 8th annual culinary walking tour, ¡Buen Provecho! in the heart of Pilsen’s commercial district. Participants can enjoy a taste of local culture and experience Pilsen’s culinary offerings through a 3-hour tasting and walking self-guided tour.

WHAT:

“Buen Provecho” is a phrase traditionally said before enjoying a meal among the Hispanic community. Uncover new, evolving and familiar eateries and sample delicious signature portions from 24 participating establishments. Free trolley service is available to shuttle participants between specific stops along the tour.

5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Live music at 18th & Blue Island Ave.

Pilsen (18th St., Damen Ave., Blue Island Ave., to Halsted St.)

5 Rabanitos, Cantón Regio, Crepería Nuevo Leon, Don Churro Inc., Fogata Village Restaurant, Honky Tonk BBQ, Kristoffer's Cafe & Bakery, La Casa Del Pueblo Taqueria, La Cecina 2, La Michoacana Premium (Del Panda), Panaderia Nuevo Leon, Pilsen Breakfast & Grill, Pizza Nova, La Esperanza Restaurant, Simone's Bar, Small Burger, Taquerias Atotonilco, Taqueria El Mezquite,Taqueria El Milagro, Taqueria Los Comales, Taqueria Sabor Y Sazón,The Jibarito Stop, Twisted Bull, and Yvolina's Tamales.

COST:

Tickets $25 until September 19. Purchase tickets in advance through http://www.eighteenthstreet.org/buen-provecho/.

Pick up tickets and map at the EDSC office at 1843 S. Carpenter, Chicago, IL, 60608 from M-F, 9 a.m.– 5 p.m. Tickets are $30 day of event and will be sold at 18th and Blue Island Ave. until sold out. For information, call ESDC 312-733-2287.

WHY:


All proceeds benefit the Eighteenth Street Development Corporation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated towards community and economic development in the Pilsen neighborhood.  

The ESDC envisions Pilsen and the Lower West Side of Chicago as a vibrant center of sustainable commercial and industrial activity, offering safe modern housing, and a diversity of employment opportunities. The ESDC has served the Pilsen community on the Lower West Side of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois for over 37 years and looks forward to adding to its legacy.
