Safeguard Self Storage Expands Again in New YorkSafeguard Self Storage has opened another new facility in the New York market on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa. This is the company’s 25th store in New York and its 69th store in the nation.

Safeguard Self Storage is increasing its already dense presence in the New York market. The Massapequa store has 689 units in 59,725 Rentable Square Feet of storage space and is located across the street from Sunrise Mall. It is located about 12 miles east of Safeguard’s West Hempstead, NY store.
Similar to Safeguard's 68 other stores nationwide, this store is designed with a focus on convenience and customer service. Amenities at this location include heated and air-conditioned spaces, convenient drive-up loading areas, computer-controlled access to the building, individual unit alarm systems and digital/video recording of the property.
"Safeguard is excited about continuing its expansion in New York and feels this store will be a great addition to its already large portfolio there. The company has three additional properties in New York, two more in Chicago, and five in Florida that are in various stages of development” said Jim Goonan, Senior Vice President of Development for Safeguard Self Storage.
“We have been in the New York market since building our first self-storage facility there 15 years ago in 2001. These 25 stores, and the three additional stores in development, give Safeguard one of the strongest brand presences in New York and help us serve our customers there well,” said Ken Finlay, Senior Vice President of Operations.

Safeguard opened the Massapequa self-storage facility, located at 6000 Sunrise Highway, on September 7th, 2016 and will be managed by Andrew Kosiewska, Facility Manager, and Kimeta Imeri, Assistant Manager.
