The origin of a vehicle, related to a specific country, is an important issue, especially in the emerging markets, which continue to aspire to vehicles that are manufactured by non-domestic brands. Understanding the preferences of individual countries in terms of where the vehicles in its parc are made – i.e. whether they are domestic or non-domestic – provides manufacturers with an opportunity to create a competitive advantage and differentiate themselves from their competitors.
