Why do LED lights become darker with increasing use? There are three reasons for this

It is a very common phenomenon that LED lights become darker as they are used. There are three reasons that can make LED lights dim:

Drive damaged

LED chips are required to operate at low DC voltage (below 20V), but our usual mains power is high AC voltage (220V AC). To turn the mains power into the electricity needed for LED chips, a device called "LED constant current driving power supply" is required.In theory, as long as the parameters of the driver match the LED board, it can be continuously powered and used normally. The internal structure of the driver is quite complex, and any device (such as a capacitor, rectifier, etc.) that malfunctions may cause a change in the output voltage, which in turn can cause the lighting fixture to dim. Driver damage is the most common type of malfunction in LED lighting fixtures, which can usually be resolved by replacing the driver.

LED burnt out

LED itself is composed of a combination of light beads, and if one or a part of them does not light up, it will inevitably make the entire lamp dim. Lamp beads are usually connected in series and then in parallel - so if one bead burns out, it may cause a batch of beads to not light up.There are obvious black spots on the surface of the burnt lamp bead. Find it and connect a wire to its back to short-circuit it; Alternatively, replacing the light bulb with a new one can solve the problem.Occasionally, one LED burns out, it may be a coincidence. If it frequently burns out, then drive issues should be considered - another manifestation of drive failure is the burning of LED chips.

LED light decay

The so-called light decay refers to the decreasing brightness of the luminous body, which is more pronounced in incandescent and fluorescent lamps. LED lights also cannot avoid light decay, but their light decay rate is relatively slow, and it is generally difficult to see changes with the naked eye. But it cannot be ruled out that low-quality LEDs, or low-quality bead boards, or objective factors such as poor heat dissipation may cause the LED light decay rate to accelerate.
