Recently, the "Eternal Charm of Mei: Fragrance Across the Straits" Cross-Strait (Taizhou) Mei Lanfang Art and Culture Week opened in Taizhou City. More than 300 distinguished figures from the art and cultural sectors across the Straits, opera masters, and opera enthusiasts attended the event.

Event Highlights

This year's Art Week focuses on the theme "Cultural Feast, Youth Festival," featuring a more regional and systematic approach. During the opening ceremony, the "Taizhou Taiwan University Students Study Base" plaque ceremony was held, with eight units including Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College as carriers. Additionally, ten outstanding entrepreneurial youths from Taizhou and Taiwan were appointed as Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Mentors.

Performance Highlights

At the scene, Peking opera masters Zhang Jun and Liu Yiyi performed classic pieces such as "The Drunken Beauty" and "Song of Pear Blossom." Young opera talents from both sides of the Straits co-created and co-performed youth-oriented Peking opera programs like "Praise of Jingjia" and "Opera Tales of Taizhou."

Moreover, more than 30 Taiwanese opera actors made their first visit to Taizhou, staging special performances featuring traditional Taiwanese opera.
