NoiseMaker: Innovative Platform Making Big Noise for Nonprofits
Launching the world's first automated ambassador marketing platform for nonprofitsImage: https://www.getnews.info/uploads/02fc12dda6ae86e0c60ba6d79b711f27.jpg
JULY 15, 2024 - Washington, DC - Steve Bostian spent decades as a nonprofit CEO, fundraiser and volunteer mobilizer. During this time, he became convinced there must be a better way to equip ordinary volunteers for extraordinary impact. He also became convinced that volunteers can do anything that paid staff can do.
One thing that keeps nonprofit leaders up at night is worrying about funding. Nonprofits don't speak of competition - but it is real - and growing. There are now over two million in the U. S. and over 10 million worldwide.
In 2022, the concept for NoiseMaker began to form. The software recently launched as the world's first automated ambassador marketing platform for nonprofits.
Bostian says the concept is so novel that some leaders have a hard time understanding what it is. He explains "think about it like a nonprofit version of a cross between Affiliate Marketing and Micro Influencer Marketing. But in this case, the "influencers" are trusted volunteers who become Social Media Ambassadors to promote their favorite cause.
"The most unique part..." he continues, "is that ambassadors earn financial rewards as an incentive and token of appreciation." After sharing their story, when a donor gives then the ambassador earns a reward.
The reward system is fully automated and each nonprofit controls how rewards are earned - based on fixed amounts or percentages. For volunteers who graciously decline the reward, a no reward option can still be used for tracking outcomes.
The out-of-the-box ambassador program tracks every stage of the process from recruitment to management. After a simple setup and customization using built-in templates, a nonprofit is ready to recruit from among their trusted team of existing volunteers. They apply for the role, and if accepted as "NoiseMakers" will automatically receive a unique link to their first campaign.
Some nonprofits have experimented with Peer-To-Peer [P2P] fundraising campaigns. "NoiseMaker is actually a polar opposite approach to P2P" says Bostian "because with P2P you start with the ask. That's kind of like getting married before going on the first date!
NoiseMaker, on the other hand, is genuine storytelling - volunteers sharing their own real experiences and why they are passionate about the cause. Any ask is much more subtle, natural and in the proper order."
Bostian says the software can also track non-donation actions and soon these actions can be tied to rewards. "This feature alone is revolutionary for the sector" Bostian says "because now the promotional budget can tie directly to program outcomes!
NoiseMaker will revolutionize the way nonprofit organizations and ministries raise funds and advocate for their causes in a more grassroots and organic way - while cutting costs and reducing risk.
