Grammy Award Winning Sounds of Blackness recieve 2 nominations for 39th NAACP Image Awards

The NAACP Image Awards honors projects and individuals that promote diversity in the arts in television, recording, literature and motion pictures. The theme of this year’s show is “Stand Up and Be Counted.” During this crucial election year, the NAACP encourages everyone to be socially conscious and take a stand on critical human and civil rights issues.
The Ground Breaking New CD by the Grammy Award-Winning Sounds of Blackness “KINGS & QUEENS: Message Music From The Movement”, released Sept 4, 2007 -Exclusively At Best Buy! Like the theme of this years NAACP Image Awards, the project is a Life-changing, soul-healing “Movement” that encourages self-respect and positivity to help stop the violence in our streets, schools and homes. “KINGS & QUEENS will have a positive impact on the lives of our youth, our people and the entire nation, states Founder/Grammy Award Winning Producer Gary D. Hines.” The Sounds of Blackness and Best Buy will donate a portion of the proceeds from “KINGS & QUEENS” to The Martin Luther King Memorial Fund.
The heritage and legacy of Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Blues, Spirituals & Gospel are the keys that Sounds of Blackness will use to open the minds of the KINGS & QUEENS of today and tomorrow. “KINGS & QUEENS: Message Music From The Movement” represents an ongoing commitment by the Sounds of Blackness. As a result, the Sounds will be partnering with the NAACP, Rainbow PUSH, Adidas and with Domestic Violence Agencies to promote self-respect, and help stop street violence and domestic violence.
