The vegan "Your Choice" ice pralines from the young start-up "PlantUp" are not just a treat for the taste buds, but also for the eyes and sense of touch. This is because Carina Schmidt and Peter Ottillinger, who founded the young start-up in 2021, focus on 100% naturalness both in the organic ingredients of the handmade ice cream creations and in the choice of packaging material. That's why the small hinged box in which the ice cream bars or chocolates are placed and which packaging specialist Karl Knauer from the Black Forest produces for the ice cream manufacturer from Ingolstadt is made of plastic-free barrier cardboard. It has a natural, rough feel and is still suitable and approved for contact with food thanks to a special coating. "More and more manufacturers are looking for environmentally conscious packaging that does not require plastics but still offers the same safety and benefits," reports Michele Tamburello, Key Account Manager at Karl Knauer. "That's why we offer a variety of solutions that allow us to reduce the amount of plastic to a minimum or avoid it altogether while still meeting the strict hygiene regulations of the food and cosmetics industry." This guarantees complete enjoyment, regardless of whether you choose the raspberry, lupin coffee, coconut, lime, peanut chocolate or vanilla flavor. And if you can't decide, simply take the small box with all the flavors.
