Partnership announced between Seattle area-based IT training company and training provider for the U.S. Department of Commerce

[Seattle, June 12th, 2024] - TLG Learning, a Seattle area-based IT training company with a 30-year history of successfully providing role based technical training to organizations and individuals, announces its partnership with Apprenti as a training provider for the U.S. Department of Commerce Good Jobs Challenge grant. TLG Learning's long-standing partnership with national apprenticeship leader Apprenti began in 2016 and has continuously grown and changed to bridge the tech talent gap for major employers and government agencies looking to hire and grow skilled, diverse early career tech talent.

Both organizations are publicizing their collaboration efforts to support employers nationwide in developing skilled and diverse early career tech talent pipelines, as well as upskilling existing employees. TLG Learning's customized job role-based training, combined with Apprenti's well-tested apprenticeship model, will help businesses continue to bridge skill gaps in high-demand fields like Software Development, DevOps, Network Development, IT Support Professionals, and Data Center Operations.

According to McKinsey Global Institute research (https://www.mckinsey.com/capabilities/people-and-organizational-performance/our-insights/overcoming-the-fear-factor-in-hiring-tech-talent), 87% of global senior executives surveyed said their companies were unprepared to address the gap in digital skills. To meet this challenge, organizations implementing early-career programs gain significant advantages. Employers who design early career programs, and/or partner with organizations like Apprenti, can customize the training their candidates or employees receive to match their specific needs. By being able to consult on the skills they require, employers can influence the curriculum and end up with a skilled pipeline of talent that meets their targeted needs.

CompTIA's March 2024 State of the Tech Workforce article (https://www.comptia.org/content/research/state-of-the-tech-workforce) reports that tech occupation employment is expected to grow at about twice the rate of overall employment across the economy within the next 10 years. In 2024 alone, net tech employment is forecasted to rise by 3.1% to 9.9 million positions.
