Shipping and Delivery

We ordered one unit for testing. Unlike what we read, we were charged extra $9.99 to cover the shipping costs. After that we learnt that they don't offer free shipping on a single order. So we paid around $100. It arrived within 4 days which is not that bad, we would have been happier if it arrived earlier. With this in mind, we can say that there's nothing sloppy about their Shipping and delivery. The product arrived in a nice package unlike some other products we showed online before. It arrived as seen on the official website.

Unboxing

Having been looking to get it, we can't wait to see it working. We first glance at the parcel and Unbox it from the right direction. We brought everything out. We saw the ChillWell 2.0, a user manual, Charging cord (USB-C). We confirmed that it is what we ordered so will proceed to testing it.

Testing

Before putting it to the test, we read the instructions manual for detailed information. We learnt that it has improved the water tank. Now it can contain 550mL of cold or ice water. We also learnt that it is better to Soak the cooling cartridge in cold water or freeze it before using it. We also see that the battery comes 60% charged so we immediately plug it till it reaches 100%.

We started by pouring cold water in the tank, after that we inserted the cooling cartridge in the direction seen in the user manual. We turn it on, it brings out cooled air instantly, we switch over the four different speed settings and there's a difference in cooling power. We also use it in fan mode only.

Observation

Unlike what we read, we immediately observed that it is for a small space, we can call it a personal space cooler because after leaving it for an hour, it didn't cover every corner, it only keeps our personal space cold so if you are buying this, keep it in your mind. We also observed that it is not Ultra quiet as most people claimed. On any speed level, you can tell that it is working though it doesn't make loud noise. The fan is also powerful with low noise too. We also observed that the water needs to be topped up or replaced after some hours. After about three hours, the water in the tank reduces and the cooling levels Start to drop so prepare to change the water after working for some hours.

There's also no Remote Control and warranty, the company only offers it at a 60-day money-back guarantee which looks okay. The battery looks okay and can last long before shutting down.

In summary we aren't completely thrilled with it though it is turning hot air into cold air, it offers rapid cooling, and it doesn't make much noise. We aren't happy that it is only meant for personal space and its lack of remote control. Hopefully, the next version will address some of these issues.

Why You Might Not Need ChillWell 2.0?

There are a lot of reasons, firstly, it is not as powerful as most people claim. It can only cool your personal space, if you want anything more than that, prepare to order additional units.

Secondly it needs frequent attention like checking the water level, cleaning the Cooling Cartridge, checking the battery level. Anyone who is extremely busy might not want this type of stress.

Thirdly it looks slightly expensive when compared to other portable air coolers though it claims to do more. We haven't checked others so we can't say if it is worth the additional cash.

Fourthly, if you have more budget it is better to use central air conditioners all day long. Is true that portable air coolers are good but with their current technology I can't see them replacing central air conditioners completely. They are good as a supplementary cooling device.

Another reason is that you might decide to try other brands which might look cheaper depending on its quality, manufacture, and where you are buying.
