ArtCenter College of Design Celebrates 70th Anniversary With Spectacular Classic Car Show and Jaguar Partners Grad Event, Alum Thom Fajemisin
ArtCenter College of Design proudly announces a grand celebration of its 70th anniversary with a Classic Car Show on June 15, 2018. This exciting event will take place on the ArtCenter campus, featuring a stunning array of classic cars and innovative designs.
Honoring Thom Fajemisin and the Graduating Class of 2018
This year's Car Classic will also celebrate the achievements of the Transportation Design department's graduating class, including the remarkable Thom Fajemisin. A Pasadena local and an automotive branding graduate, Fajemisin has distinguished himself through his outstanding final project for Jaguar sedans. Their innovative design has received significant recognition, showcasing his talent and dedication.
Fajemisin's project was part of a prestigious collaboration between Jaguar and ArtCenter College of Design. This initiative provided students with the unique opportunity to work on design briefs for future Jaguar sports cars, guided by the expertise of Jaguar's design team.

Jaguar Design Partnership: Shaping the Future
In 2015, Jaguar launched an ambitious design program in partnership with ArtCenter College of Design and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. This collaboration aimed to envision the future of Jaguar sports cars, challenging students to create concept designs for a 2030+ model year halo sports car and a luxurious 2+2 sports coupe interior. Under the direction of Ian Callum, Jaguar's Design Director, students transformed their sketches into detailed scale models, both digital and physical.

Thom Fajemisin's work exemplified the innovative spirit of this program. The project focused on design language, sculpture, and proportion, exploring future philosophies for Jaguar that prioritize form and visual identity.
