France Updates Standards for Childcare Articles
On June 29, 2016, an updated list of standards pertaining to childcare articles was published in the French Official Journal. These revised standards give presumption of conformity to Decree 91-1292.The updated list of standard includes instructions relating to the safety requirements and testing methods for:
• Baby carriers - NF EN 13209-2: February 2016
• Rainproof covers - NF S54-043: September 2015
The documents include provision for a smooth transition period, when items conforming to the previous standards can still be produced and imported. This will allow current stocks of childcare items to be sold until June 1, 2017 – one year after the date of publication.
