Girl from 'Glasgow Academy' makes it big in the UK's biggest Talent hunt!

Young talents from across Britain converged at the British Parliament, London on Tuesday, April
30th for the Annual Inspire Awards celebration. The awards aim to honour exceptional
individuals aged 5 to 17 in their respective fields. A local youngster from Glasgow, 15-year-old
Ishita Israni, clinched the title of Stem Wizard, in the Academics Category,
She stands as a beacon of success in STEM, an arena where women's achievements are often
hidden gems.
The Inspire Awards 2024 is an initiative of British Youth International College (BYITC) which is in
its second year now, was founded in 2015 by a Glasgow-based academic and educator Dr
Rashmi Mantri to help young people learn and improve their abilities in maths.

A total of 27 awards were presented at the event, followed by grand celebrations attended by
the winners, their families, judges, supporters, and other guests. The BBC Presenter Zara Janjua
hosted the lively festivities. Winners received trophies and certificates, along with food
vouchers from German Donner Kebab, one of the event sponsors.
The awards were overseen by a high-profile judging panel including entrepreneur Dr Poonam
Gupta OBE, Chief Executive of PG Paper, an international paper company based in Inverclyde,
Scotland, Rohini Sharma Joshi OBE, and others.
Our CEO Dr. Rashmi Mantri extends her heartfelt gratitude to all those who participated in this
inspiring event. She said "I have seen first-hand how achievement in learning and skills can fill
young people with confidence and show them how amazing they really are. Through BYITC,
we have helped thousands of students excel in maths, English, programming, and
cybersecurity. The diverse range of talents showcased at the Inspire Awards, from coding
prodigies to literary talents, environmental champions to philanthropists, and exceptional
singers and dancers, is a testament to the remarkable capabilities of our youth. Congratulations
to all the winners for setting a high standard for next year's awards."
Added, "I also extend my sincere gratitude to our sponsors - MP Afzal Khan CBE, German
Donner Kebab, and Whitebridge Financial Limited - for their unwavering support."

Ishita Israni, hailing from Glasgow Academy School, has made a significant mark in the UK's
largest talent search, showcasing her passion for learning across various fields. From mastering
new musical instruments like the guitar, violin, and ukulele to engaging in chess, dance, and
theatrical pursuits, she thrives on acquiring new skills. Ishita's recent foray into computing
began after her team's success at the Generation event hosted by JP Morgan last year. Since
then, she has actively expanded her tech knowledge through workshops, classes, and
additional events. Ishita holds a strong fascination for artificial intelligence (AI) and aims to
deepen her understanding of computer science in this field.

"I thoroughly enjoy the digital world as there is so much to explore and learn, I have a strong
fascination towards Al and would like to continue on my path with BYITC classes as they are a
great help in my understanding of Computer Science." shared Ishita Israni

MP Afzal Khan CBE said "I would like to congratulate especially the work of Dr Rashmi Mantri
and BYITC in conceiving, organising, and bringing to a magnificent conclusion the Inspire
Awards 2024. But it's not just about education; BYITC is also all about giving back. They're
involved in some fantastic CSR activities, like the Inspire Awards, and they're constantly
sponsoring scholarships and community projects to make our society a better place."
Inspired by the success of the College, the BYITC Inspire Awards recognises young 'Super
Achievers' from all backgrounds who have excelled in fields including the environment, sports,
media, art and creativity, science, academics and many more. There were six categories and 27
prizes in total.
