Drew Steele endorses Louise Penta for Collier County School Board District 2 seat
As part of his parting words on his last-ever Daybreak show on 92.5 Fox News, Drew Steele endorsed Louise Penta for Collier County School Board District 2. The departing conservative talk show host also endorsed Lee Dixon for the District 4 seat.Penta said, “I am thankful and humbled by the endorsement from Drew Steele on his send-off show. Drew has long been the truthful and reliable voice for children and education in our district. He will be missed for his fair and balanced radio program and community involvement.”
The endorsement from Steele, who has accepted a position with KSL Radio in Salt Lake City, continues a strong run of good news for Penta. In June she was endorsed by former District 2 opponent John Brunner and the Collier County Republican Executive Committee. In less than three months, Penta has raised more than $60,000, far outpacing the fundraising of any other candidate in the race – a testament to the confidence Collier County residents have entrusted in her.
Penta’s platform includes a pledge to overturn common core, initiate a comprehensive budget assessment and audit, protect taxpayer dollars, restore local control and implement merit incentives to reward teachers.
The Collier County School Board election is a countywide, nonpartisan election, and everyone in Collier County has an opportunity to vote for their candidate of choice from District 2. Citizens’ participation will determine the future leadership for education in Collier County.
