Homemade Afghan Chutney

Homemade Afghan Chutney

San Gwann Malta, 14th July 2016

A homemade coriander chutney is now available through mail order. The product is made following a traditional Afghan recipe which went down through the generations.

What is this chutney made of?
This Afghan chutney is vegan friendly. It is naturally gluten free, dairy free and egg free, 100% homemade and does not contain any preservatives or artificial colouring.

It is made of purely wholesome ingredients:
• fresh coriander
• tomatoes
• green chilli
• garlic cloves
• olive oil
• white vinegar
• lemon juice
• salt.

How is this Afghan chutney made?
The recipe for this chutney is a blend of the above ingredients. It is light in texture and adds a very refreshing taste to various dishes.

It comes in three strengths: mild, medium or hot.

How is it used?
This Afghan chutney is very versatile and can be used in a number of ways.

On its own, it can be used as a dressing with lamb, chicken or fish. Mixed with Greek yogurt it makes a light, refreshing dressing for salads.

It can also be used as a pasta sauce or added to rice or couscous.

The consistency of the chutney makes it also suitable as a dip. Served with vegetable crudités or flat bread, the chutney makes a lovely snack with drinks or a pre-meal starter.

Who is behind this Afghan chutney?
The Azizi family moved to the UK over 25 years ago and, over the years, they always enjoyed typical Afghan food; recipes which came down through the generations.

The idea behind producing this chutney on a wider scale is the brain-child of Eraj Azizi. The product is completely handmade in the Azizi household in limited supply. There are other coriander chutneys on the market, but this homemade version is new; it is not mass produced and not available off the shelf.

How to order this Afghan chutney
This homemade Afghan chutney is only available through mail order.

Orders can be placed by contacting Eraj on Erajazizi@hotmail.com
A 200-gram jar costs €5.50 / £4.75 plus packaging and posting.

Delivery may take up to 10 working days.
