The TU Delft Hydro Motion Team, previously known as the TU Delft Solar Boat Team, is renowned for its innovative and sustainable boat designs. This year, they are embarking on a new challenge by creating a foiling hydrogen-powered boat for the Monaco Open Sea Class.

This year, they are taking on a new challenge by designing and building a foiling hydrogen-powered boat to compete in the Monaco Open Sea Class.

The design of this year's boat focuses on seaworthiness and distance, as the team plans to sail between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, covering approximately 400 km of challenging waters in the North Sea. The boat features hydrofoils, which enable it to "fly" above the water, reducing drag and increasing speed and efficiency. With a cruising speed of 40 km/h, the team aims to complete the journey within a single day.
