Daniel Schmitt & Co. Classic Car Gallery Acquires Rare 1973 Dino Targa by Ferrari; Now For Sale

ST. LOUIS, MO -- April 16, 2024 - Daniel Schmitt & Co. Classic Car Gallery in St. Louis announces it has acquired several rare vehicles including a rare 1973 Dino 246 GTS Targa built by Ferrari. The vehicle is one of only 1,274 produced and is in excellent restored condition.

The vehicle was just released from a world-class collection and has been meticulously maintained to the highest standards. The Dino features a rare color combination of a Sabbia leather interior with a satin black removable Targa top, one of only 63 manufactured.

"The Dino sports cars were named in honor of Enzo Ferrari's son, Alfredino, who designed a dual overhead-camshaft V6 engine for both road and racing use before tragically passing away from muscular dystrophy at the age of 24," said Daniel Schmitt, owner of Daniel Schmitt & Co. Classic Car Gallery.

"In his honor, Enzo created a brand in his son's name to compete with smaller and less-expensive sports cars than the traditional 12-cylinders," said Schmitt. "The Dino line competed with the likes of Porsche with the same Italian style, flair, and drama of the parent company."

Schmitt has also procured a 1993 Jaguar XSJ220 Coupe in like-new condition. Once the world's fastest production vehicle, reaching over 200 miles per hour, the car has only 4,308 actual miles. The vehicle has been fully recommissioned for $105,000 at the Jaguar Heritage Center in England.

The Jaguar is one of only 283 built, drives and performs flawlessly and features a panoramic glass roof.

A 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II is also available from Schmitt. The Drophead Coupe by H.J. Mulliner drives like new, with only 44,637 actual miles. The Rolls is one of 74 left-hand drive examples built by Mulliner.
