At thyssenkrupp, around 160,000 employees work in just under 80 countries to produce product solutions for sustainable progress. The company's activities are grouped into six business areas: Components Technology, Elevator Technology, Industrial Solutions, Materials Services, Steel Europe and Steel Americas. The business areas are further divided into business units and operating units, which operate independently on the market.
Industrial Solutions
The business area Industrial Solutions comprises the business units Process Technologies, Resource Technologies, System Engineering and Marine Systems. The strengths of this business area are the full spectrum of specialty and large-scale plant construction, as well as a shipbuilding tradition that, in some sectors, stretches back for centuries. Around 19,000 employees at over 70 locations form a global network whose technology portfolio guarantees the highest degree of productivity and cost effectiveness. In the fiscal year 2013/2014, the business area achieved an order intake of 5,732 million Euros and a turnover of 6,271 million Euros. Its adjusted EBIT was 738 million Euros.
Process Technologies
Process Technologies is one of the world's leading engineering experts for the planning and construction of chemical works, refineries and other industrial plants. The business unit offers customers cost efficient hightech solutions in the industrial plant construction sector, as well as the range of products and services of an EPC contractor, with comprehensive service covering the entire life cycle of a plant. Hans-Theo Kühr is responsible for the Business Unit Process Technologies.
Resource Technologies
Resource Technologies offers a comprehensive product portfolio and a close-meshed sales and service network for customers in the sectors of mining, cement, mineral processing and bulk materials handling. With innovative solutions, the business unit sets standards for the extraction, preparation and transshipment of raw materials. From an individual machine to a complete plant. Ramsis Shehata is responsible for the Business Unit Resource Technologies.
