Urbane Living: Reclaimed Wood Flooring
Crafted from naturally-aged timber sourced from old barns, factories, schools and railway wagons, the repurposed nature of the wood makes reclaimed boards a highly sustainable and ethical flooring option.
The longer the timber has matured, the harder and more stable the boards become, with years of exposure to the elements resulting in a weathered look. The natural beauty of antique timber, aged by time, provides a subtle interest to the boards; perfect for bringing warmth and personality to your living spaces.
Urbane Living is one of the UK's leading suppliers of high-quality wood flooring and has an extensive choice of reclaimed engineered wood flooring available. All our reclaimed flooring is engineered, making it suitable for use with under floor heating.
Reclaimed flooring options include the original face, crafted from the outside face of the reclaimed beams, or the inner cuts, known as sawn which will have a less weathered appearance than the original face boards whilst still retaining the natural imperfections created in the wood over time that makes reclaimed wood flooring so special.
In addition to the choice of inside or outside cuts, Urbane Living offers the opportunity to select from boards sourced from 80 to 100 year old timber, usually from railway wagons or floorboards or from timber more than 200 years old, crafted from old beams found in barns, factories and ships. Co-founder Adam Robertson comments "Decorating with reclaimed wood is very trendy at the moment. Each piece of reclaimed wood is completely unique; it has so much history, story and character that it can instantly update any modern space. Cladding a wall with reclaimed wood planks for instance is a very effective way to bring warmth and interest to a room."
Available in planks in a range of widths including the option for wider boards up to 280mm wide, Urbane Living's reclaimed wood floors are also available in herringbone or Versailles panels, making them a hugely versatile option for any interior. Price starts from £120.52 m2 plus VAT.
