PC Pitstop Launches Broadband Quality Tool

Free Bandwidth Speed Test Allows Users to Schedule Ongoing Tests to Track Consistency of Their Internet Service

SIOUX CITY, IA – June 2, 2016 – PC Pitstop, maker of the only commercial whitelisting security technology, today launched the Windows version of its Broadband Quality Tool, which lets users easily schedule bandwidth tests overtime, allowing them to better track issues related to consistency of the internet service received from their service provider. The tool tests ping time and upload/download bandwidth speeds.

According to the 2016 Broadband Progress Report Fact Sheet, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) found that, “Approximately 34 million Americans still lack access to fixed broadband at the FCC’s benchmark speed of 25 Mbps for downloads, 3 Mbps for uploads.”

Once installed, users can easily set a custom testing schedule, click start, and watch the results immediately roll in. In a PC Pitstop survey, testing 930 individuals’ bandwidth speeds, around 25% reported bandwidth speeds greater than 25 Mbps, while nearly 75% reported internet speeds deemed inadequate by the FCC.
