Professor Wilhelm Gantner relinquishes his position as CEO and joins the Supervisory Board of the rapidly growing RFID company from Lustenau, Austria.Lustenau, Austria and Kelowna, Canada, January 19, 2006 — IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, a global leader in Long Range RFID-based Intelligent Asset Management solutions, announced today that Gerhard Schedler (BSc., MBA) has taken on the position of CEO of the company effective January 1st, 2006. Previous CEO Professor Wilhelm Gantner will take his place on the Supervisory Board and will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity. In preparation for this transition, the Supervisory Board had already appointed Gerhard Schedler to the position of COO of IDENTEC SOLUTIONS AG in May of 2005.
The 35-year old native of the province of Vorarlberg (Austria) has been active in the field of RFID since 1994, initially in Research & Development, followed by Project Management and later as Business Unit Manager for GANTNER Electronic GmbH in Schruns, Austria. Since its spin-off from GANTNER Electronic GmbH in 1999, Mr. Schedler has been involved in the growth of IDENTEC SOLUTIONS AG in various positions of leadership in Technology as well as Sales. After receiving a Master of Science degree in Electronics, Measurement and Control Technology at the Interstate University of Applied Sciences of Technology Buchs NTB in Switzerland, Mr. Schedler completed an international MBA program offered by the Business University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
Prof. Wilhelm Gantner, partner at GANTNER Electronic GmbH and core shareholder at IDENTEC SOLUTIONS AG sums up the appointment: “At the time of my own appointment as sole member of the Management Board back in Spring of 2001, the main goal was to give the company new structure and to direct it on a path of growth and prosperity. I believe this has been achieved quite nicely, and now is the right time to pass the responsibility into younger hands. Through his exceptional work since the founding of IDENTEC SOLUTIONS AG, Gerhard Schedler has proven that he is exactly the right person for this position, and I am very pleased to be able to hand over the torch to him at this time.”
“RFID has experienced a crucial evolution this past decade: namely, it has moved from being purely a technological product to becoming an “enabler”, currently revolutionizing processes in a multitude of industries. We are standing at the door of the break-through of this technology. Our primary goal is now to continue strengthening IDENTEC SOLUTIONS’ global market position”, states Gerhard Schedler, CEO of IDENTEC SOLUTIONS AG, of the company’s future challenges. “I am looking forward to lead the company in this important phase and to continue fostering its growth. Our exceptional Intelligent Long Range RFID technology, the extensive know-how of our employees, as well as our long list of customer references worldwide provide an excellent foundation for this assignment. In light of this, I would like to use this opportunity to once again convey my thanks and that of the entire staff to Mr. Gantner for his excellent work in building up the company. I am especially pleased that as a result of his move to the Supervisory Board, we can continue to profit from his decades of experience.”
