Entrepreneur Ms. Mengting Hou Advocates for Equitable AI Language Learning at Language Advocacy Day 2024

This pivotal event, held virtually on February 28th via Zoom and organized by the Joint National Committee for Languages (JNCL), marks a significant step in our collective efforts to advocate for equitable language education. The day brought together 100 leading language educators from across the world. The agenda focused on advocating for legislation that supports more inclusive and equitable language education. Through advocacy training, meetings with federal legislators, and roundtable discussions, the event aimed at enhancing the legislative framework that underpins language education.

Throughout the event, Ms. Hou articulated the critical necessity of world language programs in cultivating globally aware individuals prepared to thrive in an interconnected world. She and her education colleagues' discussions with the legislative offices of Senator Alex Padilla, Senator Laphonza Butler, and Representative Ted Lieu emphasized the vital importance of world language programs in nurturing well-rounded individuals who are prepared to navigate the complexities of the global landscape.
