rosa mosa travels with a colourful range of shoes into the coming spring
The Viennese shoe label introduces their brand new footwear collection Spring/Summer 2008 in Milan and ParisThe Austrian-Japanese shoe label rosa mosa recently presented its Spring/Summer Collection for 2008 in both Milan and Paris. With new designs Simone Springer and Yuji Mizobuchi evoke a fresh taste of summer. Hereby, they quote and refurbish Austrian tradition implementing their own expression of ´Zeitgeist´. From February 2008 the collection will be available in selected stores worldwide.
rosa mosa is entering the season with striking tones of yellow and red or in subtle Crème, Moka und Confetto. Vegetable tanned cow-hides are granting a natural surface. The Happy sandal-line fuses clear and straight lines of uppers with soft appealing knots. A new wood-sole with flexible PU-insertion - an Austrian invention - has recently become a key part of each rosa mosa collection. A closer look at a men’s style named ´Adam´ reveals extraordinary comfort provided by oiled soles. The feminine tendency is visualized by models such as Tina and Conny and contrasted by cylindrical carved oakwood-heels. Soft and easy-to-wear Ballerinas come in colours such as Latte, Beige, Grigio and Navy showing pointe-shoes related toe-shapes, whilst Sahara, a men’s model, is redefining the ancient desert-boot idea. rosa mosa’s design language always remains playful, unorthodox, yet contemporary.
Experimental Approach
´We see our shoes as the result of a transformation of traditional craftsmenship into contemporary design items´, says Simone Springer. She and her partner continuously find inspritation in their opposing cultural backgrounds.
In the belongings of development and production of each collection rosa mosa prefers to source from local suppliers. Regular cooperations with Austrian manufacturers, such as ´Ludwig Reiter Schuhmanufaktur´ are highlighting the diversity of each rosa mosa line. In cooperation with selected tanneries the label is working on new coating, finishing and abrasion techniques on leather, to retain the unmistakable appearances of their items.
