Burning Issue: Driving Behaviour Analysis in Corporate Fleets

The enhancement incorporates a driving behaviour analysis based on generic vehicle data and g-forces, potentially leading to a cost reduction of 4-7% in fleets. In-house bonus systems for driving personnel encourages economical driving. Lower environmental impacts are a byproduct, as it saves on fuel and reduces tyre and brake wear. The new release is applicable to cars, vans, and trucks.

This module captures and interprets a myriad of vehicle data in real-time, providing businesses with comprehensive insights into their drivers' behaviour and their fleet's performance.

The detected incidents include, but are not limited to, hard braking, rapid acceleration, harsh cornering, speed violations, excessive idling and the evaluation of fuel efficiency during the journey. Depending on the data source (OBD, FMS, CAN-Bus), additional parameters such as the throttle position, cruise control usage, RPMs etc. can be included in the assessment.

A distinctive feature is the individual configuration of threshold values for each vehicle. Based on specific characteristics such as transmission, weight, and engine torque, the threshold values are calculated and, if necessary, readjusted. These alterations ensure precise capture of driving behaviour, resulting in a high acceptance of the results.

The solution aims to promote safe and efficient driving. Precise detection of driving manoeuvres enables companies and fleet managers to tailor training and support for their drivers, reducing accidents and optimising fuel consumption. Statistically speaking, corporate fleets comprising 150 vehicles experience one to two accidents every month.
