GCC Start-up brings real-time luxury restaurant reservations app to the UAE

eat, a start-up launched in the GCC at the beginning of 2015, has expanded its fine-dining restaurant discovery and real-time reservations app to include the United Arab Emirates. Following its Dubai office opening and team expansion at the end of 2015, the company has already partnered with over 100 of Dubai's fine-dining restaurants and a number of global hotel chains, with plans to continue to add more restaurants in the coming weeks and months.

Restaurants and hotels that partner with the app are able to take advantage of highly targeted exposure to eat's Dubai-based users through a range of free marketing services, resulting in increased reservations and revenue, with no cost apart from a small commission fee per confirmed booking. A number of the Emirate's most luxurious hotel chains have already partnered with eat, including The Palazzo Versace, The Taj Group of Hotels, The St. Regis, The Kempinski Group, The Oberoi, The Address Dubai Marina, The Radisson Blu, Media One Hotel, Fairmont the Palm and The Shangri La.

Following its app launch in Bahrain at the beginning of 2015, the company quickly acquired over 90% of fine-dining restaurants in the Kingdom and now has an active user base of over 30,000 Bahrain-based individuals. With the size of the Dubai market being considerably bigger, eat is projecting a fast growth trajectory.

The app, available on both iOS and Android, allows users to browse fine-dining restaurants using a number of filters, including cuisine type, price range and neighborhood, before selecting a restaurant of interest. Users can then browse menus, descriptions, photos, working hours and a number of useful tags, which give an accurate portrayal of what the dining experience will be like. Once a restaurant is selected and date, time and party size inputted, the app displays real-time table availability based on the requested criteria.

Nezar Kadhem, Co Founder of the company, added; "The USP of eat is that we partner directly with many of the restaurants found on our app, so that when users select a reservation time-slot their information is sent directly to the restaurant and automatically inserted in their reservations management platform, which we have provided. What this means is that when you see an available time-slot you can be guaranteed that time is currently free and available. What's more is that once you hit 'reserve,' your name, contact number and reservation information is instantaneously inserted in the restaurant's system, thus guaranteeing your reservation.

The whole user experience has been designed around making the reservation process as seamless as possible, and this has resulted in a reservation that takes just three quick steps and can be completed in under 15 seconds."

The company has plans to launch a GCC-wide web application in the near future that will compliment its mobile app.
