New FAFSA form with MAJOR changes- 2024-2025 College Application Cycle
Troy, Michigan - The FAFSA form just opened for families to complete, months after the normal October opening date. Parents have been waiting with desperate attention, since financial aid forms are an important part of getting maximum financial aid from the universities they will be attending. There is a newly designed website that has never had hundreds of thousands of users, and has major changes to the formula that will assess financial aid eligibility. Families have had major issues getting on so-far, thanks to pauses in the Department of Education's soft opening. The brand new "Student Aid Index" will be dramatically different for families who have multiple students, small businesses, divorced parents, and other factors.
The good news is that families with lower income may qualify for more financial aid than ever, if they complete the process without errors. 1.5 million more students may receive the maximum Pell Grant, $7,645. Many families with higher income will need to be more meticulous planning to receive financial aid and figuring out how to pay for college with less aid.
With the ever-evolving landscape of financial aid, Bridgewise College Planning remains committed to empowering students to achieve their higher education goals by providing expert guidance on FAFSA completion. BridgeWise actively trains thousands of families each year at community workshops on the financial aid process, and have over 500 families that enroll in our college planning memberships to maximize the student's financial aid.
The FAFSA is a critical step in the college application process, as it determines a student's eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work-study programs. Navigating the intricacies of the FAFSA form can be daunting for both students and parents, but Bridgewise College Planning aims to simplify the process and ensure that all eligible students can access the financial aid they need to pursue their education.
"Our commitment to student success extends beyond the college admissions process. By providing comprehensive support for the FAFSA 2024-2025 application cycle, we aim to alleviate the stress associated with financial aid and empower students to focus on their academic pursuits," said Paul Compeau, Founder at Bridgewise College Planning.
