In August 2021 ChargePoint Holdings, Inc. had announced the acquisition of ViriCiti. ViriCiti will expand the ChargePoint fleet solution offering of hardware, software, and services by combining data sources to improve electric fleet operations, such as battery management, charging station monitoring, OEM-agnostic telemetry, vehicle maintenance, and vehicle operations data. Fleets will be able to choose which routes to electrify, track and report on uptime, optimise fuelling to maintain operational readiness at a low cost, and integrate vehicle and charging station management with the unified solution.
In April 2022 Siemens AG had announced the launch of charging infrastructure for GoRaleigh and the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS). Siemens eMobility manufactured and deployed chargers to local transport agencies to enable the introduction of new electric buses into their fleets. To assist electrify the city's transit buses, Siemens teamed together with GoRaleigh and Proterra. Three DC plug-in quick chargers and six dispensers were manufactured and installed at the GoRaleigh transit hub facility as part of the project.
