CMI begins Commercial Production at recently acquired facility of General Cables Energy Private Limited at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh
CMI Limited, the BSE listed Specialty Cables Manufacturer, today announced the beginning of the Commercial Production at its new facility at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. This facility is a part of the recently acquired General Cable Energy Private Limited from fortune 500 company, General Cable Corporation.General Cable Energy Private Limited, which was rechristened as CMI Energy India Private Limited, is in the process of being merged with CMI Limited, the scheme for which has already been approved by the board of CMI Limited and is awaiting statutory clearances.
CMI Limited expects to add Rs. 1000 crores in capacity, with the commencement of this facility. In the next 3 years, the company expects to optimally utilize the additional capacity. The commercial production at the facility has begun in a record time of 50 days, post acquisition. The total capex on this facility is Rs.150 Crore.
“With the commencement of production at the state of the art manufacturing facility in Baddi, CMI Limited has now become one of the few players in India which has the capability of manufacturing Specialty Cables for wide ranging sectors, meeting stringent quality and test parameters for extreme condition usage”, says Mr. Amit Jain, MD, CMI Limited. He further added that this facility will also help in import substitution of a wide variety of Specialty Cables.
The new facility complements the product offerings already manufactured by CMI, bringing it to the select league of companies in India to offer comprehensive product basket to its customers. Not only this, the new facility can also manufacture all types of cables that are currently being manufactured by CMI. Some of the cables that can be manufactured include Extra High Voltage Cables, HT Aerial Bunched Cables, HT & LT Cables(EPR/XLPE/PVC),Signalling Cables, Air field Cables, PTFE , Balise Cables, Co-Axial Cables,LSZH/TPU Sheathed Control Cables, Railway Signalling & Power Cables, Indoor Signalling Cables, 0.9 & 1.4mm Conductor Axle, Counter Quad Cables for Railways, Jelly Filled Telecom Cables, Rubber Cables, Thermocouple Cables Individual/ Overall – Shielded/ Braided Instrumentation Cables, Fire Alarm/ Signal/ Control/ Screened Cables, Telecom/ Power Cableswith FRLS/LSZH, House Wires, Fire Resistant/ Fire Survival Cables, FR/ FRLS/ LSZH/ HFFR Cables, Automobile Wiring, Welding Cables, Field Bus Cables, PCMCables, Profibus, PIJF Telecom Cables, Data Cables, Telephone Cables, Submersible Cables, Antitheft Cables, Specialty Cables for SMART Cities, Shipboard Cables, Naval Ship Cables, Braided Cables, Mining Cables, DC Cables, Composite Cables, Underwater Cables, Solar Cables, Overhead Conductors – AAC, AAAC at the new facility at Baddi.
The manufacturing facility is spread over an area of 80,000 sq meters. It’s a certified Green Building with all Modern and state of the art manufacturing facilities and machineries to manufacture various types of cables. Plant is designed to reduce waste, pollution, and environmental degradation with an energy efficiency of 20-30% as compared to other plants of similar size.
