Veraz and Telarix Partner to Provide Carriers with Next Generation Routing

11-29-2007 01:52 PM CET | Media & Telecommunications

Press release from: Telarix

SAN JOSE, CA and VIENNA, VA — November 28, 2007— Veraz Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:VRAZ), a leading global provider of IP softswitch and media gateway solutions, and Telarix, Inc. the leading provider of Interconnect Business Optimization (IBO) and settlement solutions, announced today a joint solution to enable carriers to financially optimize routing on-the-fly as network conditions change. This integrated system which includes Veraz’s ControlSwitch™ softswitch and Telarix’s iXRoute™ and iXTranslate™ next generation routing optimization solution, has already been deployed at leading global providers of telecommunications services.

Together, Veraz and Telarix allow carriers to maximize revenue opportunities and minimize costs as they migrate from legacy TDM to an IP-centric infrastructure. With a fully distributed and modular IP-based architecture, Veraz’s ControlSwitch can interface with any network protocol enabling carriers to preserve legacy service infrastructure as they add new services and expand into new markets quickly and with minimal cost. Telarix’s iXRoute and iXTranslate work in conjunction with the ControlSwitch to streamline and automate the carrier’s routing processes. Network route guides are converted into switch level instructions allowing carriers to easily financially optimize their routing to specific QoS and network requirements.

As part of the announced partnership, Telarix has joined the Veraz Open Solution Alliance program (VOSA). The VOSA program brings together hardware vendors, software developers, and systems integrators to create and deliver best-in-class solutions enabling service providers to take advantage of pre-integrated solutions that can be tailored to meet their unique business requirements.

“As today’s business savvy carriers migrate their existing TDM network to an IP centric network, they require a next generation routing solution that will enable them to react quickly to changing network conditions and margin opportunities based on existing agreements,” said Shawn Zargham, Chief Technology Officer of Telarix. “This integrated solution with Veraz addresses the dynamic business demands associated with today’s complex interconnect agreements by enabling carriers to create and implement global routing strategies in near real time—enhancing their overall service delivery capabilities to their customers and creating a sustainable competitive advantage.”

“Flexibility is critical in today’s competitive environment, both in how networks are built out and in how they operate,” said Jay Jayasimha, Chief Technology Officer of Veraz Networks. “The Veraz and Telarix joint solution enables carriers to cost effectively incorporate and maximize the revenue opportunity of any service across any TDM or IP interconnection including multi-region or multi-country deployments.”
