Local Phoenix record label, Heart Dance Records, announces the release of several new albums this month. The label’s first major release will drop on April 15th, 2016. Titled Trialogue, the album features the super trio of Sherry Finzer, Darin Mahoney, and Will Chapman. Finzer is an international award-winning flutist who masterfully performs on concert C, alto, and bass flutes; guitarist Mahoney plays on one-of-a-kind acoustic instruments he has crafted by hand; Tucson percussionist Chapman has transcended genres and reached international audiences, resulting in seven GRAMMY© nominations over the course of his career. Each is a formidable talent and Arizona musical treasure in their own right, but as a group, they have created a wholly unique and mesmerizing sound for this album that is sure to make waves in the New Age music industry. Pre-orders can be made now on Amazon, Bandcamp, CD Baby and iTunes.
Heart Dance Records is also releasing two albums from their talent pool of artists: Michelle Qureshi makes her label debut with her album, Scattering Stars. Guitarist Qureshi is classically trained, but also draws deeply from her Eastern studies, incorporating influences from writers Rumi and Hafiz into her ambient, soothing songs. David Donner’s first studio album, Eterna, is the namesake of his beloved guitar—an unremarkable Yamaha model that, nevertheless, has carried him through years of song-writing and performances. After a career spent writing music for other people’s projects, Donner spent the better part of a decade crafting, in a finger-picking style all his own, the tunes that would become Eterna. Both releases will be available on April 15th, 2016 and can be purchased on the artists websites (listed below), CD Baby, Amazon, iTunes, and more.
