A leading RTK farming software provider has sealed a deal to supply their products on the Danish market after weeks of negotiation.

The deal sees CloudBase RTK sell their Base Station Network to a Danish franchisee who will then sell the software licences in their name in what appears to be a white-label deal.

Upon completion of the deal, Financial Director Sarah Wright stated:" It is an unbelievable opportunity for CloudBase RTK. This allows us to expand our base station network and develop relationships with a main dealership network. The deal with our Danish business partner is only the beginning of us expanding our business into mainland Europe. There are many more markets we would like a presence on."

RTK stands for Real-Time Kinematics. It uses GPS and other satellite constellations to provide farmers and their teams with real-time data. The system allows them to measure their performance with a sub-centimetre precision. This way, the user can precisely control their equipment to maximise yields and save money.

RTK technology is fast becoming an essential tool of precision agriculture as the RTK guidance systems map out field boundaries to the nearest millimetre. However, the precision is affected by the quality of the GNSS signal, the number of satellites and the nearest RTK base station. Therefore, most farmers must invest in a base station network to allow accurate mapping of their land.

The system will only work if the tractor or combine harvester can connect to the base station network. To be tracked, the agricultural equipment must have an RTK-NTrip Modem fitted. These modems connect the tractor or combine the harvester to the base station network and track its position with high-level precision. Allowing for much higher yields and contributing to higher profits.
