ARK Tower Defense (www.arktd.com) is a non profit project that starts a free to enter competition on first April.
The game ARK - Survival Evolved is spiced with a competition on a free to play server running on supercomputer hardware to ensure perfect gameplay.
ARK is an open world PVP sandbox survival game. It is about taming dinosaurs, building bases, conquering enemy territory.
Ark Tower Defense is spicing up the usual gameplay with a mix of different prices, including a Nvidia GTX 980 TI graphics card and PayPal cash outs to the winning teams, called "tribes".
The competition is due to launch on first April and expected to have a duration of two months.
Forums and the website have recently been published, now it's possible to request a ticket for the competition and reserve a slot to play.
After 2 months the next round is expected to launch.
While free ARK servers are nothing new, a competition with prices is something new in the world of ARK and most likely going to cause a lot of interesting situations.
Winning the competition is accomplished by building the largest "tower" structure, the goal is to either reach the sky (a virtual height in ARK) or have the largest still standing tower at the end of the competition.
ArkTD.com is a non profit project, the costs for powering the website, forum and a supercomputer to ensure perfect competition play are entirely private funded.
